5a Myrtle Burl Bookmatched Set!
6.5mm thick drop-top.
An absolutely fantastic wood rarely seen on uk shores. Myrtle has a very close grain structure – its very difficult to tell the difference between long grain and end grain, it all very similar! A fragrant incense like aroma comes from this wood whilst it is being worked.
I have always thought this wood aesthetically lends itself to heavy rock and metal style instruments, with its deep brooding colouration. Given a translucent black, rubbed back stain would make these sets look absolutely incredible!
