The market is saturated with poorly made options from soft metals and with subpar finishes. When you've invested so much time and effort into crafting an instrument, it's frustrating to have to settle for hardware that diminishes the final result. I'm pleased to announce that I've sourced high-quality screws that I confidently use on my own instruments. They are impeccably crafted, strong, and aesthetically pleasing. Please note it is important to counter-drill the correct size hole for the screw to go into. The diameter of the required counter-drill can vary depending on the wood species / material that the screw is driven into (softer woods req. narrower counter-drill, harder woods req. wider etc). If you try and drive a small screw into a very hard wood without first drilling the correct size counter-drill then you may find the screw head gets damaged or even snaps. If you are unsure then do some tests with a scrap piece of the same timber you are screwing into. Also please be sure to use the correct size screwdriver to match that of the head of the screw.
