Have you ever wanted to build your own Electric Guitar?
Or maybe you have already have but would like to hone your skills further? Check out a guitar building course with us and try your hand at guitar making!
This guitar building course will guide you through every stage of guitar building; from design and wood choice, safe and correct use of machinery such as Bandsaw and Routers, right through to carving necks and fretwork.
Students build their very own guitar from scratch – and get to walk away with not only the knowledge and skills required to build more instruments in their future, but also with a high quality, custom guitar that they can play and cherish forever.
This intensive course is open to all abilities from complete beginner onward and tailored to each individual. Tuition is given by John Ambler, professional Luthier and owner at Ambler Custom Guitars. John’s guidance through this course is invaluable – having over a decade of experience creating his own line of custom guitars and an extensive range of bespoke builds.
Students are supplied with all the materials needed to build their new electric guitar – a body & neck blank, choice of fingerboard blanks, truss-rod, fretwire, nut blank, volume & tone pot, capacitor, 3-way switch and jack socket. Students are required to bring their desired hardware – pickup(s), bridge, tuners & control knobs etc (advice can be given on these if required).
Each course has a maximum of two students for a truly personal experience in electric guitar making.
Courses are now available as a 7 day back-to-back block running Monday to Sunday. Make sure to book early to avoid disappointment!
All courses take place at our workshop in Tideswell, Derbyshire. If you have any questions about our courses, please get in touch at sales@luthierwood.com
