Dry and ready to carve, the slabs for these blanks have been hand selected for their quality.
Rift sawn, see third photo to get a good appreciation of the grain direction. We cut our neck blanks from carefully selected slabs, aiming for a balance of Quarter and Flat sawn stock. Some Rift Sawn stock is left which can still be used to make a great guitar neck, but unless you are confident with your understanding of Rift Sawn necks, we would always recommend that rift sawn neck blanks be used for multi-piece necks.
