Hand selected Wenge slabs yielded these fantastic neck blanks, best of the best stock.
Rift sawn, see third photo to get a good appreciation of the grain direction. We cut our neck blanks from carefully selected slabs, aiming for a balance of Quarter and Flat sawn stock. Some Rift Sawn stock is left over and with a stable wood like Wenge, you can still make a fantastic neck that has minimal risk of it moving enough that it can’t be adjusted out. However, unless you are confident with your understanding of Rift Sawn necks, we would always recommend that rift sawn neck blanks be used for multi-piece necks.
